Holistic dentistry also called biologic or integrated dentistry places a focus on the connection between oral health and overall well-being, using biocompatible materials, minimally invasive techniques, and personalized care to treat the root cause of dental issues rather than just the symptoms.

Yes, holistic dentists are fully licensed to practice dentistry. They receive the same foundational training as traditional dentists, with additional training they gain expertise in holistic and biologic approaches.

Yes, we will work with your dental insurance plans to help you get reimbursement for your treatment and we can provide pre-authorizations before treatment to help you understand the cost.  However, we are not in network with any insurance providers who may not cover some services depending on the holistic services provided. We collect payment day of service and submit your completed treatment to your insurance provider who will reimburse you directly.  Most insurance companies will cover your preventive care and possibly treatment in our office but please contact your insurance company to get information for your own individual plan. Our team is also happy to help you navigate your benefits.

We offer flexible payment options and financing plans to ensure our care is accessible to all patients.

At Sage Dental Wellness we offer experienced holistic dental care.  Dr. Railand has taken dentistry to the next level through her extensive continuing education and dedication to her patients.  She has completed a dental residency with a focus on surgery and oral systemic connections while a resident at UNM Hospital.  She has trained with mentors who have passed down much of their knowledge to ensure you are getting the best care possible.  Dr. Railand takes the time to listen to your concerns and wants to see you achieve your optimal oral and overall health.

Yes, your comfort is our greatest concern.  If you are very nervous about your dental appointment we have options that include Nitrous oxide, Oral sedation as well as IV moderate sedation.  Please let us know so we can schedule accordingly.

When indicated to remove amalgam fillings we use the IAOMT SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) protocol to minimize risk of mercury exposure.  We have trained and are certified in this procedure please see the IAOMT website for more information www.iaomt.org

Please make sure you have received our guidelines and recommendations for your treatment prior to your surgery date.  Please make sure you are prepared by having taken good care of yourself prior to your treatment date.  This may include taking recommended supplements to ensure your vitamin and mineral levels are sufficient.  We want to make sure you are taking a quality vitamin D3 and K2 supplement at best a month prior to treatment.  Make sure you have all the quality soft foods to eat at home and proper pain medication as needed. We always recommend a salt water rinse after surgery so make sure you have enough quality salt at home to last you a few weeks.
